Social Starts

When I started creating content online, it was just because… I love Alaska! We have lived all over America and for us, this place is home. I wanted to share a bit of our adventures, show a few of the places we loved, and just not care about the followers. And… the people liked what I posted! When I stopped caring what other people thought and just posted what I liked… people appreciated my weirdness! Go us, weirdies! While my favorite videos to create are the ones where I show off other businesses. Oddly enough, it is those same businesses who kept telling me to find a way to monetize! So… I guess here I am! Thanks to a school class that kicked my tushy into gear!

Every item purchased will now have a $5 donation to local Alaska Youth enrolled in Agriculture programs!

As far as starting a business goes I guess I am slightly backwards here. This week in class we discussed social media and how to market your business. It was kind of fun to learn how I could do things a bit differently to make my channel more enjoyable for others and how I could still support businesses I love, while also somehow marketing my own now! Doing that makes me nervous. It’s different to attempt to show yourself rather than to just uplift others. At least, for me it is. In class, we talked about varying your content, creating a schedule, and seeing which platforms are the best for your business. I plan to mostly just be my kookie old self and hope people continue to not mind that!
