After spending 20 years moving around the country as an active-duty military family, we are back home in Alaska and we can't stand it! It's simply too perfect here. Nobody loves perfection.

My name is Jessica Herbert! My husband and I have spent many years living around the United States and experiencing everything that military life offers. I am talking about 14 different houses in 20 years. During this time we were lucky enough to have 4 pretty cool children. If my time as a military spouse has taught me anything, it’s that life is to short to take anything for granted or to take it too seriously!

Everywhere we lived we encountered people who HATED it there! In Minot it was to cold and too remote, but then even in New Jersey, people complained the grocery store was too far away! In Florida, it was to humid, in Texas it was dry. And so my love of double meanings and sarcasm and funny words grew. There is something to hate about everywhere, but there is always something to love! Now I can’t help but “complain” about the amazing things in every place we visit. Everything has an upside! But… I always pretend like it’s a downside.
