The Alaskans Have Landed

Well… the store has had its first couple of orders! Holy smokes I am so grateful to those first new customers. I can’t wait for them to get their sweaters and to just… LOVE them!

This week in class we were asked to learn about landing pages (where you first land on the website from and add or wherever). We also learned to start navigating the crazy world of SEO! Sheesh. I kinda feel like that part was out of my league. And then to need to learn about it while on “vacation” and dropping our daughter off on her mission and saying goodbye for a year and a half. Well, that just made everything so much easier! I mean… I will put keywords, but it’s still hard for me to not just put what I want to put and figure the right people will find me!

I did make one change I hadn’t had time to make. Right from the beginning I knew I wanted to make a change and somehow help others with this business. I mean… Aside from my awesome videos telling you where “not” to go in Alaska and other places. I decided that every single item purchased, I will put $5 of my profits towards youth in Alaska who are enrolled in agriculture programs! I mean, if you have tried to keep livestock in Alaska, you know the unique challenges we often face. In order to continue to make sustainable changes we have to educate and inspire others. How better do to that than support the youth who are already loving AG! So, for those who have already placed orders… I have set aside the donations for those. And every order going forward will help to support local youth in ag programs in Alaska! This is an addition I am so excited to have started and can’t wait to see how many we can help!
